| The animals are free
from additives, and many of them are rare breeds. They
are sourced from farmers who specialise in rearing their
animals using organic methods or as close to the organic
ethos as possible. Beef is hung for three to four weeks and sometime
longer, lamb around ten days and pigs three to seven days. This allows
the meat to
mature and makes it very tender. This provides extra quality the supermarkets just
don't have time for. All the animals have been outside
on grass and have never been fed unnatural feed. The
grasslands have no fertilisers or pesticides applied to
them, and the animals are allowed to wander about as they
please.
The picture on the front
page of this website was Sebastian's very first bull, and was
taken as it wandered on a paddock in Hacheston, Suffolk.
There came a point at which he had to decide whether to
continue rearing his own animals, or to concentrate on
providing other animals, which he was aleady doing as
well. With our involvement we can now specialise in bringing you the finest
meats from animals from our own farm or reared by farmers who believe as
we do,
that the best quality cannot be achieved using factory
and intensive farming, but comes from tending to the
animals and treating them kindly, keeping them free from
chemicals, and feeding them naturally.

Method
The animals are:
- all free range, in
most cases, organic.
- reared to the
highest welfare standards.
- spend much of the
year outside.
- not taken on long
journeys to livestock markets.
- have no pressure to
fatten quickly.
Growth promoters,
hormones and routine antibiotics are not used, as they
are not needed, and pesticides are not applied to the
grasslands. Every care is taken to exclude GMO's.
